• Cocteau Twins – love the singer and nonsense lyrics – written plenty of wordless art songs in my day
• The Hue – sicko progmetal/progrock
• Neil Young. Unlike The Who, Stones (blech), haven’t tired of him. I still fantasize wrote this song
• Alan Holdsworth – Eddie Van Halen’s guitar idol. Insane player, but commercially unviable jazzrock
• Frank Zappa – fondly remember singing Dynamo Hum at Karaoke in college – audience was horrified
• tera melos. Thanks to Ernesto Gianloa. Jarring, sloppy-feeling yet insanely precise progrock/jazz
• Behold The Arctopus. Insane instrumental progmetal/progrock. Will make you insane too
• Dysrhythmia. Instrumental progmetal/progrock. Voivod-ish, or like Rush with all 12 tones
